Ausdance WA is pleased to announce that the shortlisted nominees for the 2012 Australian Dance Awards have been released.
The vibrancy of Australia's dance scene was evident, as a terrific selection of dance works, choreographers and dancers have been shortlisted for Awards.
"The selection process is a challenging task for the judging panel”, comments panel chair Robina Beard OAM, “as there is always a high calibre of nominees put forward."
From this point forward, the panel will continue their work to judge the final winners who will be announced at the gala Awards event.
This year, the Australian Dance Awards will take place at the State Theatre Centre in Perth. It will be the first time the Awards have been held in Western Australia.
As a major event on the Australian dance calendar it will feature performances by some of Australia’s finest dance companies as well as the presentation of awards in ten categories, including the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award.
It is the one night of the year when dance creators, performers, educators and enthusiasts gather together to acknowledge and honour their peers. It is also a not-to-be-missed opportunity for dance lovers to sample some of the best works of the last twelve months.
The Awards take place in conjunction with the MoveMe dance festival which will provide a wonderful opportunity to showcase dance.
Tickets for the Australian Dance Award can now be purchased through BOCS Ticketing.
