The West Australian Dance Awards (WADAs) recognise and celebrate the achievements of the West Australian dance community, in the areas of performance, choreography, technology, service, teaching and community.
Ausdance WA calls out for nominations for the WADAs around March. Anyone may submit a nomination, regardless of whether or not they are on an Ausdance member. Nominations generally close at the end of August.
A committee of judges, selected by Ausdance WA, then convenes to create a nomination short-list which is made public through the Ausdance WA enews and dancewest. From the short-list, the judges then select the winners, which are announced at a celebratory event held in the second half of the year.
Ausdance WA did not hold the WADAs in 2012 due to the national event, the Australian Dance Awards being held in September at the State Theatre Centre.
Ausdance WA is pleased to announce that in 2013 the West Australian Dance Awards will be held at the Courtyard, State Theatre Centre, Perth on 27 November 2013.
